Zoo York is one of today’s top skater lifestyle, equipment, and apparel brand. During the summer of 2006, Zoo York presented SEE with the design challenge to create original skateboard deck graphics that reflected the personality of a skater from the Zoo York Skate Team. SEE participants had to learn how skateboards were designed, the materials’ use and function, and the process that goes into actually making the product. SEE participants conducted extensive research on the lifestyle and history of skateboarding, as well as research on the lives of the Zoo York skaters.
The final designs shown exemplify the young designers’ zeal for innovation, eye for flare and marketing savvy. Two decks were chosen to be manufactured and sold to the public. Please stay tuned to our website to be informed as to when the sale of the skateboards will happen and where.
